The perils of new price packages

Over the weekend was the big push for getting the new OxONet site finished and released. We succeeded at that, but more importantly, the new site contained some very improved packages, offering more for less (reflecting the changes in the market since our last pricing structure). This is all very well and good, except that we have to migrate every customer from an old plan to a new one. Which isn't really that big of a problem other than it requires detailed account records, which aren't always exactly all in one place for some of the really old accounts. :)

On top of that, we've recently switched our accounting over to a new package (MYOB Plus 2004, I highly recommend it), which I had just finished setting up for the old price plans. Now, I have to go through and set everything up again for the new price plans, after just last month really getting into the swing of things. That's my advice to any aspiring entrepreneurs: don't switch your method of record-keeping before a price structure overall, do it afterwards. Saves the effort of "converting" twice. :) Why is my foresight so 20/100?

So the new packages are great, and we're really excited about them. Somehow, though, with the piles of work to carefully audit each account (which probably should have been done anyway) and get all of the records updated, my excitement is a bit muted. Oh well, once again I have "getting it all set up" to look forward to... again. Now let's see, Quarterly Power, that's $17.95/month, plus an extra domain name, that's...
