Client calm, but a document and duty deluge

I realized that there hasn't been much BitWise news either here or elsewhere since the last Beta release almost two weeks ago. This certainly doesn't mean that nothing is being worked on! The end of last week were spent working on some new documention, a total of four new documents. The new documents cover Voice chat (soon to be part of an official 1.0.3 release), Grouped Conversation View, Logging and Contact List Options. Hopefully at least someone will look at them and make it worth the time spent on them. One of the aspects of software that you never realize ahead of time is how much time it takes to create good, reliable documentation and keep it up to date when things are changed.

Several specific bugs were also addressed, including finally finding the "random" whiteboard crash that several people have reported but never been able to replicate. See the forum topic/bug report for specifics if you are interested.

I also spent some time working on various wxWidgets things after being "wxPromoted" two weeks ago (blog entry). wxWidgets is actually in a time of exciting transition right now, after almost 2 years of being on stable version 2.4 the last testing versions before 2.6 are being prepared. wxWidgets 2.6 is going to offer a plethora of enhancements especially to the Linux and Mac OS X versions, and I think will help push it even farther into the spotlight.

Speaking of spotlights, stay tuned for some very exciting BitWise news along these same lines, there are some things in motion that will hopefully pan out.

I think I'll reiterate the insanely overly busy comment from my last post... :)
