This entry is the 5th in a series exploring possible answers for questions on some surveys in development. Because we want the surveys to be as complete as possible, we are soliciting information from you, the BitWise users.
This set is more open-ended than the previous questions.
1) How can we ask about user's experiences with the web site in terms of visual appeal, layout, navigation, etc?
2) How can we ask about the online documentation and its usefulness?
Thanks for the responses, this is the last set of questions! Tomorrow we'll finish with a big open-ended question like "What else could we know that would help guide us and better serve our users?" This gives you some time to think about it. :)
1) I think that questions with a few generic options with checkboxes, one of the options being other, and then a textarea to clarify on whatever they chose would yield good results.
2) "Did you find this page useful?" links?
#1 I guess was also asking for suggestions for questions, like "It was easy to navigate the BitWise web site" with choices like "Strongly Agree" "Somewhat Agree" "Neither agree no disagree" "Somewhat disagree" or "Strongly Disagree."
Sorry for not being clear.
1: I read somewhere on the forums that some people are disapointed with the website, the special layout used can make the navigation difficult or at least not very clear for new users. The main menu is just located above (pro bitwise, free...) and contains submenus (see it, top 25, download...). It's not very hard to navigate, but when you're not familiar with it, I think it can get some users in trouble :-) A new layout, more attractive & simple would attract more people.
2: For the content of the pages, and more precisely the documentation, I think it's a very good thing to learn a bit about the program, the way it works, and the technologies used. I think that the documentation isn't read enough by new users, maybe because of the website's layout that makes less easy-to-find this interesting links.
1. Some kind of poll with a series of questions I guess
2. Any online help should come with screen-shots and a open to everyone to click buttons at the bottom of the pages....
did you find this guide...

Excellent suggestion to provide feedback on each and every document.
