One release, three friends, and an invitation to all

Today we released BitWise 1.0.5.1, the first 4-digit version in the 1.0 series. This version is indeed a minor (but important) update. The client will not notify you of the new version. There are three groups of users who will benefit the most from this update:

• Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) users - the corner popups did not work in 1.0.5 and have been fixed.
  
• Users using non-English alphabets / characters - the logs were not being properly saved in Unicode in 1.0.5, causing the log viewer to display the logs incorrectly.
  
• Users using or writing themes - the Reload button will reload a theme quickly and easily, and a few more icons are automatically updated when a new theme is applied.

Of course, if you just like to have the latest and greatest, by all means, grab a copy now. :)

Coinciding with the release and the release publicity is a new feature during the signup process. After registering your new BitWise username, you now have the option to enter up to three email addresses and send some friends notes about BitWise, including your new username and how to contact you on BitWise. You can view a sample email here.

Lastly, the Technical Support and Bug Report forums have been modified to allow posting without registration. We hope that this will make reporting bugs and receiving technical support more accessible, allowing us to provide our great service to users who otherwise may not make the effort to register.

Then again, maybe we should close the bug reports forum, which would guarantee a 1.0.5.2 wouldn't be necessary...
