Alcatraz in San Francisco Bay (high security)
Maybe it's a bit lame, but at least I managed to link my San Francisco trip with BitWise. "A" for effort, at least? :)
I've already hit a lot of the touristy stuff--including Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, riding the Cable Cars (all 3 lines, both ways!), the Cable Car Museum (which is really cool, letting you see the operations of the Cable Cars), the Palace of Fine Arts (a beautiful building and gardens dating back to 1915), the Jeremiah O'Brien (the last surviving originally outfitted Liberty ship that sailed at Normandy in WW2), and the Asian Art Museum. And, oh my, the stores! Within one block, there are: a huge 3 floor Virgin Megastore, a huge CompUSA and a large Apple store.
The LinuxWorld Expo isn't until Tuesday, so there's still lots of time to see more things. Thursday (a week from today) will be a trip to tour Alcatraz, which I actually didn't do the last time I was here, so that should be cool.
Lastly, it's downright cold here compared to Ohio. Mid-70s! At night, it dips under 60 with fairly gusty winds--I'm wearing jeans, 2 shirts, and a jacket! Back home, I want to take off my skin it's so hot! Maybe I can put this weather in a bottle and take it home! Hey, I can dream anyway, right?
Ever heard of "escape from alkatraz" ? ;-)
...enjoy the rest of your trip. looks fun. guess what I'm doing today? (hint: its been 7days) I'll let you know how it went.
I need to get up there. -_-
Still have not gotten my car "fixed." I woke up on Thursday at 8am, I wondered what the fark I was doing up that early on my day off... and promptly fell back to sleep.
You can have Southern California's whether. Take it with you. All of it.
Although lately it's been fairly interesting with sporadic thunderstorms, and hardly any rain. o_o I want rain, damn it.
It's just way too hot. -=\
