Today was the release of BitWise 1.0.6.5 Beta 1. I'm sure you're all wondering: what's with the half version? Why not 1.0.7?
The answer is relatively simple: all of the functionality that we want to include in 1.0.7 isn't ready yet, but we don't want to delay the release of all the new stuff until we have everything ready for 1.0.7. A half version seemed like the perfect solution! Of course, one could ask why we wouldn't just make 1.0.6.5 into 1.0.7, and make the next version 1.0.8. The answer is probably historical more than anything: 1.0.6.5 just doesn't feel like it has enough new stuff to merit a whole new version number.
Then again, we've seen other programs go from version 1.1 to version 6.5. Which just proves that, really, it's all arbitrary. It's 1.0.6.5 "cause we said so." :)
